My favorite way of dressing is with boots or other dressy shoes that feel like sneakers, dark jeans, a blouse that feels like a t-shirt, and earrings. Depending on the season, a corduroy or other rugged jacket is perfect. I experiment with scarves, bracelets, and other accessories.
Most of the blogs I see feature skirts and/or heels. I wasn't finding any inspiration from someone who primarily dresses in pants and otherwise is similar to my style aesthetic. I might find inspiration for layering or combining colors or using accessories, but not for dressing the way I want to dress. So, today when browsing Already Pretty's Lovely Links, I was delighted to find this post by Rachel from Small Notebook. The style she describes (minus the pearls) is just what I'm trying to create for myself.
Rachel writes, "This perfectly describes the way I feel about dressing.
As I browse through more of Rachel's posts, I see that she also wears dresses or other things that aren't entirely to my taste, but that's fine. We're different people. I'm not trying to be her; I'm just happy to have found someone who thinks similarly about style and who praises jeans.
