I sew because clothes don't fit me otherwise, for the most part, and because I can't find things in the colors or styles I like. Therefore, I sew the clothes that I want to wear daily. Or at least, I try to. I seem to be stuck on knit shirts, but maybe now that all the wedding sewing is finished, I'll branch out again into bottoms. Also, my clothing budget is my sewing budget and I have a taste for natural fiber fabrics. If I'm spending $20 - $50 a yard on fabric, I better be certain I'm gonna wear the garment!
But sometimes I need clothes and my budget doesn't allow me to feed my fine taste, so I sew polyester blends for $10 a yard or less. The fabric in this tank is very soft and has a pleasing hand feel and drape, but I'm still having trouble with the neckline and armholes. That's a problem for me regardless of fiber content.
Anyway, this is a typical late spring to early-summer outfit on days I'm not working at the library. Hair out of my face, sleeveless top, jeans, and Chacos.
