I just remembered that I can sew together the side seams without having the zipper.
While looking for the zipper, I used the bodice block Maddie helped me draft to adjust the armholes and sleeves of a tunic pattern I have. I have a sheet in my favorite blue. It once was a cover for a loveseat. I no longer have the furniture, so now I'm turning the fabric into clothes. I didn't quite finish the tunic last weekend and then one night this week I knocked my iron off the ironing board and the bottom came off so I have to figure out a way to fix it until I can afford a new one. Sigh... I hope I can get some sewing done this weekend. I like have more than one project going, but dislike being unable to progress.
The good news is, I got navy anti-static lining. I don't know if regular lining would work for a skirt, but the entire point of me putting in a lining is to keep the skirt from sticking to the bike shorts or long johns I always wear underneath. Slip fabric would probably work, too, but I didn't see any.
I found a 40% off coupon and then when I bought the lining, they gave me a 50% off coupon specifically for lining. Oh, well. I can't afford more new fabric now, but I sure do see how they can entice you to keep buying and buying. I gave the coupons away; hopefully someone will get good use from them.
