I had a difficulty getting the lining hemmed correctly, but if anyone is staring at my hemline as intently as I do when I analyze a piece in the mirror, they are creepy and their opinion does not count.
Even though you can sometimes see the lining at the back when I move or from certain angles, I'm glad I went ahead and put it in. Otherwise, this fabric is sheer enough I would have to wear a slip and I never understood the point of having a wide skirt if one was still inhibited by a narrow slip. Besides which, I prefer one self-sustaining piece of clothing to two interdependent pieces.
The only reason this isn't 100 per cent finished is that I need the hook part of the hook and eye at the back waist. How did I end up with several eyes and no hooks? Especially since I can make a thread eye, but can't fabricate a hook? Anyway, other than these pictures I plan to never wear my shirt tucked in, so the skirt is wearable until I acquire a hook.
I'm hoping this will be a versatile, all season skirt. Only time will tell.
