Several years later, I am comfortable enough with my t-shirt patterns to try to use this sequined material. The lining was still a problem and the fabric is very itchy - I wouldn't buy it now. I decided to use a shirt that serves a purpose, but isn't one I like, to create an undershirt. The original shirt is here.
Because I had to cut around the slit for the original shirt's placket, the neckline on this tank is too low, but that doesn't matter when the sequined shirt is on top. Since I intend this to be an undershirt, I zig-zagged the armhole and neckline edges and didn't bother with a binding.
I like the look of the shirt, but any place it touches my skin, it scratches. I'm curious to see how the seams hold up to wearing and washing. At any rate, I'll enjoy the shirt while it lasts. It reminds me a bit of a cross between fake snake skin and fish scales. Or I can pretend I live on a star ship!
